RE: Ashes to Ashes
Yes I am a fan. I dont think I have been on this thread before though. Actually I had not been on the Harry/Lucas thread before until a few days ago. I need to pay more attention I think.
I never watched LOM when it first started but watched most of the second series and really enjoyed it and fell in love with the character Gene Hunt. In an obsessively politically correct UK it was a refreshing change. I really felt emotional at the end of LOM with the David Bowie music playing. TV at its best I thought. I kind of understood that sometimes life can seem better in your head/dreams than it is when you open your eyes. As for A2A, I have really enjoyed this so far and KH's performance. She did get a little slated in the press over here when it started which I thought was unfair. I am really looking forward to the third series as there is little quality drama on the TV over here at the moment. |

RE: Ashes to Ashes
I loaned the DVDs to my sister this week and warned her that the first two episodes aren't too crash hot but that the rest of the first season is excellent.
Keeley Hawes can be get a little over excited on the diction front (you can tell she spent however many years in elocution and 'ducks ditty' recitals') which can really bother me but she does the big emotional moments really well and always has done. NW, I know, is very jealous of her ability to cry on cue. I like her a lot in this and it's a good part for her. I'm also very glad Jackie came back in season 2 in his camel coat - she was a character in LOM that I really liked and always wondered why they didn't re-use her. I liked her hair better in the early 70s though! I have a theory about who gene hunt really is, which is supposedly what season 3 is all about, but i might wait and see how they start the third season and see if my initial suspicions are right. Many thanks to Tyger for a terrific signature |

RE: Ashes to Ashes
I can't wait for the 3rd series. When does it start? I read something on Twitter that it's been delayed?

RE: Ashes to Ashes
In case you missed it there was a very funny 10 minute Ashes 2 Ashes film shown during Sport Relief last night on BBC1. You can find it on YouTube or via the Sport Relief link below. If you live outside the UK you may need to brush up on your knowledge of 1980's UK sporting legends to get it.
