Oh, was high noon a Gary Cooper reference? That suddenly makes a lot more sense - I wondered why she said that. (I had never even heard of Gary Cooper before, and so all references completely flew over my head).

Finally out of my awe enough to comment on this! I adored the ending still makes me cry on 4th watch!
I thought Daniel Mays was terrrifyingly good in this, the whole cast was so superb. I am so sad it has ended!
My favourite bit was when Alex realises why the time is stuck on that all the time and the look on her face Sad

And Gene.. such a bittersweet but in the same way amazing ending!

Although there was a few loose ends - not that I am complaining just thinking about it.. like were Alex's parents in purgatory as well and if so what about Evan because he is still alive at least he is there in present day with Molly. And if Gene is dead how was he there for Alex when her parents died. Or is that just part of her imagining? Hmm lol

I assumed that Molly would be with Evan, which is horribly tragic given that he did the same thing for Alex when her mum and dad died.

Also, this is the second time in a Kudos production that someone has hung themselves while watching royalty on TV.

What I meant was is everyone else in Gene's world dead? because Evan was ther even though he is alive. That is the only part that confuses me lol

I think they're part of the illusion put there to give the coppers a purpose. As for people who Alex knows, I think they're part of her consciousness and memories flooding throughout this world because she's not actually dead yet?

Yeah, I would say that Evan being there was part of her subconscious, and that he was just there because he was one of the demons she had to overcome. And I noticed that about Ray's death too! I was sitting there thinking about Peter (and then my mind went into overdrive and I didn't pay attention to the next five minutes).

I just spent lunch trying to explain the finale to one of my younger sisters, who can't accept something if it isn't logical, but it was so funny trying to made her understand it.
