it came from a real BBC source! that said i cant see who would take over from Lucas Beth and Dimitri arent strong enough and with the raitings going up and up for each ep and it beating whitechapel last night cant see why it wouldnt be.

I don't know why I think this might be some misinformation - I just have a bad feeling.

But if Lucas was to go they would probably be bringing a "big name" in, which they wouldn't announce until it his departure was confirmed.

Fantastic news.
I am just re-watching all the old series on DVD and am at the end of season 2 currently. It amazing watching back to see how much the show has changed and evolved over the last few years.

Don't know if this has already been posted but on the Nicola Walker website i just found this little piece... So happy! (Fansite owner is pretty reliable).

"There will be a Series 10 of Spooks, according to BBC head of drama, Ben Stephenson, at the recent BBC Drama event which announced the autumn and winter drama season on the BBC. From other sources, it looks like filming for Series 10 will begin in February 2011".

Richard Armitage is shooting the Hobbit in Feb 2011, which now makes me think Lucas will be leaving for definate , although I had that feeling anyways, but hoped he was going to stay
