Series 9 Pure Speculation Spoiler: show
Maybe (read, "Hopefully") Deery sacrifices himself for Ruth and she survives with a few scratches (maybe a black eye). The way I'm seeing the Lucas v. Harry confrontation "that will change Section D for ever" is Lucas shooting Harry and Harry surviving but choosing to retire. That way, Harry can go vigilante in Episode 8 (maybe hunt Lucas down or something), Ruth can take over the Grid, and they can eventually hand it over to someone else.

I'm pretending this is a definite possibility. I just can't see Kudos
Series 9 another speculation Spoiler: show
killing off Harry or Ruth. Either way, they'd be losing part of the fan base. Plus, on a logical side that I think someone already mentioned, Harry would be crazy if anything happened to Ruth. While that could make some wonderful episodes, it seems like it wouldn't be enough to have another series.

I love that idea Gold Cormorant (and welcome to the SF) but
Series 9 Spoiler: show
what would happen in Series 10? There would be no H/R. Yikes!! Also I just can't believe they would hurt both Harry and Ruth in the same episode. It would make everyone a jibbering mess...if we are not already. From the wording of that article, I think Ruth gets quite seriously hurt, unfortunately.

If anything close happened, I would guess that
Series 9 Spoiler: show
Harry would have to come back to be Section Head for Series 10, but he and Ruth could leave together after that (if it was the final series). I agree with you that it's not looking good for Ruth - here's hoping for the best, though!

RE: [Spoilers] Episode 7 Summary
For NW fans, (and who isn't?), you might like to read (or re-read) a chat Ian Wylie had with Nicola Walker that refers to this episode. There are no real spoilers, but I'll put the link below under the spoiler tag as a warning for those who don't really want to read it but can't resist. It's great reading.

And the series teasers are driving me crazy too.

Here's that link :

It's the weekend and we need to be positive.....my gut instinct is that Ruth is in the next series!

Thanks for this link, BoHenley.

However, it has confused me somewhat. Ian Wylie is always on the ball so it is perturbing that he first wrote on 03 October that Series 10 had been confirmed but then in this on 05 OCTOBER syas that there are rumours this (S9) could be the last.

Maybe he just didn't edit his notes but it would be unlike him.

Haha, yes positive thoughts, and Ruffie will be ok. We will have a white wedding and lots of babies and walks with Scarlett and Fidget in the park, before the end of S9 and beyond.

As for the IW interview, this was done quite a while ago, hence the ref to S9 rumours. I'm no expert but maybe they have to get these interviews vetted by Kudos press department, before they can get released into the public. Therefore he couldn't change it. As i say, I'm only guessing. The S10 confirmation came from somebody high up in the BBC during a speech he made. This seems as definite confirmation as you can get, especially considering we didn't get anything from the BBC last year.
OK, I know this is positive Saturday but this is a photo of Dave Legeano who plays Gilles Rigaut. Some people may know him from Harry Potter.

RE: [Spoilers] Episode 7 Summary
My stomach's in knots just pondering what they have in store for us. You know that they have no problems getting rid of any cast member so I'm biting my nails for everyone!

RE: [Spoilers] Episode 7 Summary
I really think I will make this the last episode summary I read for this series. I kind of think reading the following weeks summary will ruin the tension that has been built up by this summary. So if you see me in the summary for 9.8, you can kick me.
