RE: When do you think Series 10 will premiere?
That exactly what I said earlier sbout Sunday night TV! OAP TV haha!
There's rumours from a few places....about three potential days for it to air. One was Monday the 19th, which was something someone posted on Twitter, they said it was certain but had no evidence to back it up and then something else has been announced as taking that slot on a Monday... so I think a Monday is now out. The other was Thursday the 22nd, which is the week after Torchwood ends, again Twitter rumours, but I think it was grid_spy (twitter name) said they have the info from a source and she's not been wrong so far and now rumours are of the 18th, a Sunday... Just goes to prove nothing's ever certain... and Ian Wylie said nothings certain, ever until the last moments with TV schedules. What's odd is that only one site had it listed for a Sunday, and the BBC haven't released anything about the air date yet...and as they decide, they're the first to know and would release it as soon as the date was confirmed, It would be very odd for a show like Spooks to air on a Sunday, It could mean week commencing the 18th, but the week actually begins on the 19th not 18th You and I...We're made of secrets-Ruth Evershed S10 "If it was up to me and Peter they'd have done it loads by now"- Nicola Walker |

RE: When do you think Series 10 will premiere?
My calendar puts Sunday as the first day of the week, am I the only one? Lol
If I had to speculate, I’d say 22nd September is the best guess for episode one, and usually they have a 15 second teaser trailer the week prior up to the first episode. I’m almost certain they won’t air it on a Sunday. Look what happened to the viewing figures for Outcasts when they moved it from a weekday 9pm slot to a Sunday, ratings went through the floor allbeit being a pretty rubbish show... Back to Spooks, despite it being the last series and all, I don’t think BBC would just disregard any care they have for the show’s ratings… they still want it to do well or they wouldn’t have commissioned a new series. As for twitter I’m hearing all sorts of rumours so can’t really use information from there as very trustworthy. One more thing, is there a twitter account for spooks forum that I can follow for up to date news? Or alternatively just a spooks information twitter so when important information like the actual date of the first episode being aired comes to light, I’ll be the first to know!!! And if anyone else is on twitter, my username is @AlexiMadden – I’ll be sure to follow any spooks fans back, I need more information about my favourite show in my timeline!!!! |

In the States the first day of the week is Sunday. In Europe the first day of the week is Monday. I always have to think twice when American students ask me when does the first day of the week start.

RE: When do you think Series 10 will premiere?
I think it depends then what day of the week is classed as the beginning
Until the BBC confirm the date, I wouldn't trust anything you hear If the dates change up until the last minute for schedules then it could be next week we hear the air date Could the info, about the 18th mean the Week Beginning rather than the actual day? To be honest, I agree with you xzibit_m it wouldn't really be fair to put Spooks into a Sunday slot, even if it is the last Series, especially if they want to to go out on a high Outcasts was moved to a Sunday because of poor ratings, and because it was expected to do well, and it just didn't. Spooks is already an a highly rated Drama, and already has a pretty big following... so perhaps if it is a Sunday the BBC are hoping the people who are already fans of the show will keep the ratings up... then again, it will never be able to compete with Downton Abbey that way, and I'm sure the BBC will want to win any kind of ratings war It's either the 18th or 22nd, has to be, as the 9pm slot of taken on every other week day You and I...We're made of secrets-Ruth Evershed S10 "If it was up to me and Peter they'd have done it loads by now"- Nicola Walker |

Haha awww I trust you Beatriz anyway... This is the link to a schedule site that has it listed as the 18th http://www.tvrage.com/Spooks/episodes/1065080580
How though they posted that before the BBC confirmed it or given it to any schedule site, I have no idea You and I...We're made of secrets-Ruth Evershed S10 "If it was up to me and Peter they'd have done it loads by now"- Nicola Walker |

RE: When do you think Series 10 will premiere?
Officially the first day of the week in Britain is Sunday, and according to the BBC press office web page, Week 38 begins on Sunday 18th September.
As for the BBC not bothered about ratings; the BBC and ITV have been battling the ratings war ever since the two channels have existed, they are certainly not going to stop now! I'm sure that the BBC will not attempt to try and beat Downton Abbey, it has been the most successful thing ITV has made in years (and I'm not counting Coronation Street); Spooks will not compete with that. I'm quite sure that it will be important for Spooks to go out with a bang, with good ratings, and I reckon they will have promotional interviews before both the first episode and the last. When Ashes to Ashes was ending, they were very keen to promote it. Hopefully they will do the same with Spooks. |

RE: When do you think Series 10 will premiere?
I haven't posted in an age but I lurk regularly.
All TV reviewers and magazines will know the BBC's likely air date in advance so they can plan their interviews and magazine/newspaper content. They agree to keep the information unpublished until the BBC finally confirm it. As Ian Wylie always says, dates can change. |

RE: When do you think Series 10 will premiere?
Yea that's true, putting Spooks in a prime time mid-week slot is almost certainly what they're going to do. Also, moving on the point about how the BBC will promote the new series, I hope they do those short 3 or 4 second flash clips from the first episode like they’ve done with other programmes (Robin Hood comes to mind) They usually use a really small sequence from a really tense scene with fast paced music or something, then suddenly a voice over says, "The beginning of the end... Spooks, Starts 9pm, Thursday" followed by that eerie Spooks sound. Eeek that's got me really excited for the new series lol! I can’t tell you how happy I’ll be when I see the first teaser trailer advert for spooks, literally can’t wait!

'Life of Wylie' on twitter (and the ITV press centre) says that Downton Abbey series two starts on Sunday 18th September at 9pm. I agree that it seems unlikely that the BBC will try and compete for the ratings, even if it is with Spooks, so the 22nd is beginning to look more likely. |
