Downton suits Sunday Evening TV perfectly, Spooks is a little different and would be better suited to a weekday slot however, maybe it's a good thing that the BBC feel Spooks is going to be good enough to try and take on Downton Abbey Smile

I suppose that most Spooks fans who like Downton will record Downton and watch Spooks live, like you said Naivety, that will definatly affect Downton's viewing figures Smile

There may still be some fans who will record Spooks instead, so it might even it out a little with the figures Smile

It's going to feel strange watching Spooks on a Sunday (if it is definatly on a Sunday, which we should assume it probably is now) Wink

^I love this POV. I know its not confirmed yet, but it could be nothing more than huge vote of confidence for Spooks. I wonder if the BBC would do it if they didn't think Spooks could really hold it's own against DA better than any other drama they have?

A words from SC is that "The full digiguide subscription service updates on a Tuesday afternoon and the information is accurate." Which suggests the site is definatly trustworthy Smile

If thats true it would mean Spooks definatly airs on the 18th and replays on a Monday at 11:05pm Smile

However still wait for the BBC, its most likey they'll say a date the day the longer trailer is shown on the BBC Smile

I was wondering that too A Cousin, perhaps the BBC feel Spooks is the only show they have that could compete with Downton Abbey, because of its large following and as Nicola Walker has said before "Committed fans" Smile

And being the last Series, people may want to watch it as a part of history and watch it bow out Tongue

I wonder how many people will feel slightly zombie-like on Monday mornings, from thinking about Harry (in a Gold tie or Tux) all night Tongue

The last thing you see before you try to sleep, its enough to keep anyone awake Tongue

It would seem however that Digiguide is reliable for Infortmation, so Sunday is looking very likely now
It would have personally felt strange on a Sunday or the Thursday (The 22nd is my 18th birthday Tongue

I do think that if it is on, on a Sunday as does seem likely and goes up against Downton Abbey it might not be as bad ratings wise as people fear. I'm sure there's a large portion of people who watch and enjoy both shows equally and the biggest criticism of DA last year was the number of ad breaks. Given the choice I'm sure many people will choose to watch Spooks 'live' and record DA simply so they can fast-forward through the ad breaks!

Good point Sparky, we record all ITV drama's just so we can fast foward the adverts...I am now hoping Downton won't push H and R off the front cover of the tele magazines!

On the RT TV Listings it says Sunday 18 september 9.00 pm. Is this reliable enough?

Sounds reasonably reliable to me. At the moment I only have one lecture on Mondays in the afternoon, so plenty of time to have a lie in after Spooks Big Grin
