Favourite films?

This week I get to watch The piano and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (AT LAST!)

I'm not sure if I liked the former, I love the landscape and the OST is wonderful. I can't deny the main actress is brilliant, Holly Hunter; I liked Harvey Keitel too.

As for the latter, I love it, I was eager to watch it, and it didn't disapponted. I really enjoy watching it, wonderfully played by Jack Nicholson... It has become one of my favorite films ever. Highly recommended.

I'm sure that was on my original list in this thread. It's one of those rare things where the book and the film are equally brilliant. The book is also a favourite. It's scary how relevant that book remains even today.

I'm going to see Jane Campion's new movie tonight and I have high hopes. I'll come back and tell you what I think.

I watched Coco before Chanel yesterday and I thought that was one of the best films I had seen in a while I love Audrey Tatou

Has anyone else seen Avatar yet? The visual effects were dazzling, but the plot is a little thin and riddled with cliches. Overall worth the ticket price for the wonderful visuals, though.

A friend recommended Avatar but not seen it yet.

How about Brazil? Great film! Ok so it wears its postmodern heart on its sleeve but it's very creative and original (in an Orwellian sort of way).

Memento is also very good. Great performance by Guy Pearce (think it's him).

I watched Monty Python's Holy Grail for the first time in ages last week. Absolute classic!

The 39 Steps (Donat version) is still one of my favourite films. It still makes me laugh so hard, especially that great scene where Donat pretends to be a politician in front of the hall assembly.

Any fans out there of early Woody Allen? Sleeper? Bananas? Take the Money and Run?

Also I've always been an admirer of Soderberg. Leaving aside his massive hits like Ocean's 11 etc Traffic and The Limey are great films. Very talented director.
