Yes it is. I've never been on a rollercoaster (not a proper one, although I have been on the tallest water-slide outside of America, the Jumeirah Sceirah Tongue

) but I really don't want to, especially after having seen that!

See, I'm actually the other way around. Amelie just makes me want to smoosh her stupid face. La Vie En Rose is spectacular - that sequence where Edith finds out that Cerdan is dead is unbelievably good.

French cinema's been pretty yuck the last ten years or so, but I think it's on its way back now, with Un prophète leading the way. I'm all for escapism, but most of the romantic comedies that have come out of France the last few years especially aren't any better than a lot of those coming out of Hollywood.

Just finished re-watching the Dark Knight. I think I like this movie better every time I see it. The cast is one of the strongest going and the last 15 minutes in particular are incredibly moving.

Heath Ledger was spectacular in it and deserved his Oscar, but Gary Oldman is typically brilliant too. His character is so important in this franchise and I can't imagine anyone else playing his role.

I was really blasé about Batman Begins but The Dark Knight is fifty times better and worthy of the comics that spawned it. Only two years to wait!

Have never watched any of the Batman films. Or Star Wars. Or Lord of the Rings.

But I did watch Stardust this evening - love love love that film. Incredible soundtrack too.

You should read the Stardust illustrated novel if you liked the movie. It's an even better story and the art is beautiful.

Batman Begins was ...OK. Dark Knight was really good. I think we've discussed Chris Nolan before, but the man's brilliant.

I've just seen Chris Nolan's new movie, Inception. It's bloody brilliant! Makes you think the whole time, and the ending is just evil. It's been a long time since I've seen a movie that drew audible gasps from the audience at the end, hee!

I rate it alongside the Matrix in terms of originality.

See, from everyone's response to it, I was expecting it to be better than I found it to be. It was original, yes, exciting, a good watch, but I didn't leave the cinema buzzing and gushing about its awesomeness.

If you want a good French film you should watch Il Y A Longtemps Que Je T'Aime, starring Kristin Scott-Thomas. It's one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. Very gripping and sad, but beautiful. And Kristin plays her role beautifully.
