No mention of South Riding though....I have just started reading the book, (need something else to obsess about!) I read it many moons ago. PF charactor sounds like a love/hate kind of man......

As for PF, I knew I shouldn't have skipped the Finding Your Character in Your Shoe 101 class they offered in drama school! Tongue

Interesting what he says about why he doesn't do stage work anymore. I'm with him there! I have wondered though.

And yet another comment from him about not being the sharpest tool in the shed. He comes over as so thoughtful and wellspoken, which intellectually challenged people never do, so I wonder why he has this image of himself?

Maybe because he wasn't interested in school much and it took him ages to finally graduate from collage; but that doesn't mean he's not intelligent.

There has been much talk about him losing weight. Does anyone know if he is okay health wise? Also he said on the radio that he doesn't like stage work but has he anything else lined up which may prevent him being in Spooks 10 or playing a smaller part.

He seems to be okay health-wise, I haven't heard anything.

And if I remember correctly, he said in previous interviews that he loves Spooks and would like to keep doing them as long as they still let him.

To me, even though I'm angry at Harry at the moment, he is the backbone of this series. They may have never started out with Harry being the long-time star, but that's what they ended up with. Just like Martin Sheen's character President Jed Bartlett on the US drama The West Wing, the character was never meant to be anything more than background character showing up occasionally, but that all changed when the acting was so amazing that they just kept having him return and soon he became so central to the show that you couldn't see it without him. That's the same as Peter as Harry.

Spooks without Harry Pearce is like the West Wing without President Jed Bartlett.

Not heard of any other work plans. South Riding has finished filming now I believe. Peter is very private so I don't think anyone would know about his health. Just going on the fact that he did 4-5 months of Spooks filming, seemingly followed by a few months filming in the Leeds area, would suggest that he is quite fit at the moment. I think that's all we can say.

I know he says he doesn't like stage work any longer but I am sure I read another interview with Peter, where he said that he wasn't welcome back to the stage after he jumped ship to go to Broadway. I think I remember the article saying, that these people have long memories.

It does sadden me slightly to hear Peter refer to his small brain again. This must be the third interview I have heard him say something similar. So modest but he certainly doesn't come across like that.

The funniest thing I'll always remember with Peter was his interview on Top Gear with Rupert. Those two were so hilarious together and clearly have a lot of fun!

It was funny when they were like "we have the attention span of about 7 seconds" between the two of them! Big Grin

And Peter's lap was funny, especially when he started singing in the car!

He is so adorable! He does seem very self-deprecating, but in my view, intelligence is more than just academics, and Peter is plenty intelligent!!
