Haha, yes being a Spooks and a PF fan is an education. I'm trying to read Lorna Doone at the moment after reading some fanfic. I think the church featured in the book is where Harry and Ruth got married in the story. I have Gastons War to read next to work out what was happening in-between Peter's English speaking bits in the film.

Hi guys love the commentary on 4.9 you can just tell NW loves Harry/Peter to bits (don't we all), does anyone know the story about the bus scene that she dosn't want them to say though?

It certainly is an education. Not only have I been catching up with 8 series of Spooks over the summer but also a lot of PF's previous film and tv work, still got a few things to see. What a diverse range of characters he chooses to play, fascinating to watch.

Recorded the Greatest Game Ever Played when it was shown a few weeks ago although haven't watched it yet. I don't want the sight of a monocle and walrus moustache to damage my day dream of that cream suit and blue shirt from last week

DogSoSmall, Peter's version was released many years ago. The current version of Birdsong that you can buy, is not Peter. I just didn't want you to waste your money. You can find old copies on CD on the net, but I have only seen them go for around £50. I purchased the audio tape version a month back on ebay, for about £5. I plan to listen to it in my car. Although I only really drive to golf and the gym so I need to come up with an excuse for a long drive. Other than that, ask one of the POG's on the PF forum. They are very "inventive" when it comes to tracking down Peter's old works.

I have always wondered this. The only thing I can think of is that the hand touch was not meant to happen. It has always been said that PF and NW basically created the relationship between them and was ignored by the writers for a long time. Maybe she was supposed to pass him the computer thing another way? Answers on a postcard. I would love to see an outtake from that scene though.

Ha! I still have the Greatest Game Ever Played on my SKY+ box. Can't bring myself to watch it for the same reason. Not quite as bad as White Angel though where he dresses up in drag.

Yes, I agree it can't be as bad as that White Angel scene. Or as bad as part of the "trying out different outfits" scene from "The Pleasure Principle", another brief glimpse of him dressing up in drag...aaargh!!

Thanks guys, just watched the audio commentary for 4.9, great recommendation. What a shame PF wasn't part of the commentary. Would have been great to hear both NW and PF together.

I think it was one of the producers or the writter I can't remember I think it was Andrew Woodhead who was talking, when Harry returned to the grid and he says looks who's there, when Ruth appears
Andrew: ....And they kiss
NW: In Ruths head!
I found that brilliant! the reveals about the storyboards regarding Ruth and Harry on the bus was interesting too
I wish Peter has done an audio commentary, it would be great! Maybe there will be one of the S9 set when its released

It would be AWESOME for PF and NW to do an interview together! haha to hear both of them talk about Ruth and Harry... would be brilliant!

Thanks very much for the advice on the audio tape, Tea Lady. I can see a bit of detective work is called for.

I love the idea of NW and PF creating their relationship by planting the idea in the audience mind with little looks and smiles. That's what happened after all. That Peter is a canny lad. He hinted in another interview that he had rather encouraged the idea that his character required more development. He's not really a bear of very little brain at all, is he?
