Oh yes, but I was going to wait for that because a BBC TV version of the book is released in January, according to Amazon. So I was going to wait, in case it had a little picture of Peter on the front. I know he hasn't got a main part, but I can hope

In the orginal book his part is quite big....I would imagine though that the BBC version is focused on the romance of the two main leads..

Never mind putting books on your Christmas list, TL - just ask him to buy you a Kindle and download all the books you want! I just downloaded several James Cook books free. Of course, the Kindle cost £149, so perhaps the book is cheaper in the short term...

I must visit Yorkshire again. I've been to a few places, including Whitby (which is a lovely town) but not for many years and I've never been to the Moors or the Dales. Me and 'Im Indoors were just talking yesterday about how we should visit more places in the UK - perhaps Yorkshire should be high on the list. I love the sound of that crypt.

I think I might as well be talking Japanese to Mr TL if I mention Kindle to him. I can't see that I would use it to be honest. Although, I said that about my iphone and now I can't get it out of my paws.

Looks like Peter has done great things for the Yorkshire tourist board. It just seems so far away though. Driving from the SE of England to Leicester often takes me 3-4 hours. I can see a drive to Yorkshire taking about 8 hours then. I do like the idea of Whitby though, and with South Riding on the TV in the New Year, there may be other places which will be worth a visit.

Yorkshire is a beautiful place Tea Lady, it is seriously worth the drive, although I haven't been there in years. I went to see the waterfall where Kevin Costner showered in 'Robin Hood, Princes of Thieves'.

It pains me to admit it, as I live over the border in Lancashire, but Yorkshire is a beautiful area with lots of interesting places to visit. I've made a list of the places mentioned in the PF article and I may take the kids to visit them in the holidays.
