I know I keep harping on about those Foxhills location photos from a couple of months back but one thing that has been slightly bothering me is the presence of Max Brown in them. I originally thought that these photos may be showing the filming of 9.1 and that the stunt woman is Ros who saves Harry. We have been told that the Nightingale storyline will be wound up in series 9 so surely we will get a conclusion by the end of 9.1. Well, if we are tying up the Nigtingale story first, why would you parachute an international Greek Piracy expert into the story from the off? What would that have to do with Nightingale?

That's on the presumption that Nightingale *will* be carried over to season 9, which I'm not expecting. When has it been suggested (by official sources) that Nightingale is coming back in season 9?

Overarching themes from previous seasons have disappeared very early on into the seasons that follow on. Especially given that Nightingale had negligible success (both literally and from a writing point of view), I am not expecting it to return.

A quote from one of the many RA interviews he did about Strikeback:

And will Nightingale be a part of that or is that over now?"Nightingale comes through as a thread with the old home secretary that was in the last series. That thread is still alive, but it does come to an end at that point and then we have a new problem. Albany. I actually don't know what it is yet. I'm chasing this file called 'Albany' and I still don't know what's in it yet. I think it's something to do with genetics, but they won't tell me. It's sort of top secret."

I took his comments to mean the thread does come through to S9.

^it certainly appears that way! i mean they havent got all the members of nightingale and they could be anywhere - it will certainly be in the first two eps i think because they usualy use those two to resolve the finale before!

Oh cool! I must have missed that interview. It's probably just a throw away though - something that needs to be mentioned in order to get the Home Sec back on board and to explain who he is.

We don't know when RG turns up, do we? It's not necessarily episode 1.

There are myriad ways that Max Brown's being a piracy expert can come into play. Mostly because piracy funds terrorism in myriad ways.

As for the "old HS" does RA mean RG or the "old HS" as in TM? TM could be the "old HS" as he died in series 8....

I'm pretty sure he means RG. Especially as he's the only one we know is coming back at all.

I just think there's a limited amount we can read into those photos. That stunt girl could have been replacing anyone, they might have been doing it for a pick up shot and Harry's reaction.

It's fun to theorise though. If you're right you can feel free to say I told you so Smile

You can see them here. This all took place about a week or two into filming but that's no guarantee it's episode 1. The production schedule on Spooks is especially screwed up and not at all chronological.
