it's just happening in my head, but I have a nagging feeling that Lucas is going to be darker again this season. Whether it's unresolved issues with Harry (or over the whole 8-years-of-hell in general) or other things that'll test his character, we might see more of season 7 Lucas. Not that I don't love him dearly but in season 8 they turned him a bit into "MI5 pretty boy".. and I prefer my beer, my coffee, and my spooks, dark. And you wouldn't get much darker than being betrayed by your (ex)wife.
But like I said, it's just a hunch (or wishful thinking). They don't even have to bring Elisaveta back, I never really liked her anyway. Sort of .. shifty.

I agree, it seemed that in series 8 Lucas was being shaped by Harry missing and by Sarah, now those problems are resolved hopefully we will get more of the interesting side to Lucas.

It would be interesting I think to see him snap and tell someone in the team a bit about what happened to him. By snap I mean get angry rather than fall apart!

I think he's been rather good at holding it together, would be interesting to see what could make him break, or fall apart, and in what way (as long as the pieces get picked up and put together again, would hate to lose him or end up in Tring Big Grin

As for snap - quite liked angry Lucas Big Grin

. Such a change from his normally calm and gentle self...

Angry Lucas does make a change, the scene where he got angry at Sarah was brilliant, and obviously he can't remain broken, I would cry!

I think Lucas has been holding up too well, really, which makes him all the more an impressive character. In RL being isolated from other people for so long would really mess with your sense of self and ability to connect with other people. His relationships with people are tenuous. Harry let him down, his ex-wife, then Sarah. You could say that Ros is the most reliable person in his life.

But keeping on topic, the moments between Lucas and Elizaveta (the connection to his past) showed the "old Lucas". Re: the new Lucas, TB might be right, he could be more darker and volatile than ever!

Yes I liked the hint we saw there and think we all need to see which path he will go down, complete recovery (man he'd be strong to do that) or breakdown then recovery!

Not that I could ever imagine what those 8 years must have been like but I doubt anyone could ever completely recover from such an ordeal.

Yeah it would be pretty impossible to 'completely' recover.

Because it is so unimaginable is the reason I want an expansion about it on the show because it sort of feel like you should feel sympathetic or should ignore it. It would be interesting to see where he stands about it

Sorry, I'm very easily distracted.

Anyway, I liked Elizaveta to begin with (especially when I found out the actress has the same agency as RA) but then disliked the her and Lucas situation as we saw more of her
